Who doesn’t like the “WOW” Factor? I was lucky enough some years back to meet this amazing contractor who is not only skilled in his craft but has an eye for artistry and design. Whether he redoes a bathroom or kitchen, paints, puts in a new floor and so much more,he always seems to nail it and make it more than I could ever have imagined. That is why I decided to interview him and let the public know about this unique gem. I can’t be selfish. I have to share him.

Travel! Travel! That is what some of those who are near and dear to us sometimes do to share in our special day. When there are guests who travel to be at your wedding and are staying in a hotel overnight or,possibly, for a weekend,it is customary and “good manners” to have a little something in each of your guest’s rooms when they arrive. You can create a gift bag or a gift basket. There are a few different ideas of what you can include in your “Welcome Gift.”

One way is to have snacks or treats included. This way a guest with a dietary or medical concern won’t have to search for something they can snack on .Bottled water, popcorn, pretzels, crackers, and fruit are just a few of the items that can be included.

Another idea is to make it a relaxation gift. In such a gift you might include such items as relaxation music (if the hotel has a device in the room to listen to music),lotions, bubble bath, loofah sponge, candles and shower gels are just a few of the items that would fit in with this theme.

The last idea I am going to mention today is the City Theme. Let’s say your wedding is taking place in New York City for example. You make a New York Cit Welcome Gift Basket. There are gift containers that are out there that have the city theme right on the “box.”

If you were doing New York City,I might include a city map, a bus map and a subway map for sure. I would also include a Metro Card. There are cookies in the shape of a taxi which are fun to include. When I think of New York City, bagels come to my mind so it might be fun to include a couple of bagels.Another fun idea is to include a box of chocolate which is called “A Passport to New York.” On the cover are a few photos of different landmarks in the city such as The Statue of Liberty.

A city welcome gift can be done for almost every city. You just have to tune into what is indicative and special about that city and include it in your gift basket or bag.

Your gift will be appreciated by your guests!

I believe things happen for a reason! I have had the honor to be in attendance at a number of Ally Piper’s teleconferences and have taken away many pieces of “marketing” gems.

Back in May Ally had a contest in honor of small business month. If I remember correctly,in 200 words or  less, you had to tell why you and your business deserved a business makeover.I decided to tell my personal story not thinking that I could have a chance to win but to my surprise and joy I did. Ally reviewed my website and some of my marketing techniques and I was given a wonderful marketing session with her. For that,I thank her.

I decided Ally Piper from Marketing Bloom was a perfect person to be interviewed for my blog “The Finer Things in Life.” Last week we did the interview which I enjoyed thoroughly and now I am ready to post it.

Is this just a giant martini glass or……….

In my creative mind the possibilities are endless what can be done with an empty, giant martini glass. It can become a luxury “gift basket filled with decadent chocolates and given be used for a multitude of occaions such as Valentine’s Day,Mother’s Day, a bridal shower,a housewarming gift and much more!

I also look at this empty glass and can see it filled with an array of flowers. How amazing would it look with the pastels in the  summer and the deeper colors in the winter. What a great gift for a housewarming gift,an amazing anniversary or birthday and more….

Another great idea for this empty martini glass is to fill it with pampering items such as lotions, soaps, massage oils, shower gels, loofahs and much more. How great to give this to a bride at her shower or gifts to the bridesmaids, a wonderful Mother’s Day gift and the list goes on.

It’s all how you you perceive things!!
